2A-2 Region III District 10 recap September 17, 2013
Marcalas Johnson of Arp ran for the longest rushing play in 2A-2 Region III District 10 this season against Elysian Fields last week. Johnson scampered for 84 yards on the play and finished with 238 on the day as his team topped the Yellowjackets.
Chase Bonner and Thomas Reese provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Elysian Fields. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 87 yards.
Arp's dynamic duo of Justin Johnson and Reese proved to be unstoppable against Taihi Jones' team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns and Reese had 135 yards receiving. Jakeithon Medlock helped Arp's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 44 yards.
Dale Irwin's team's dynamic duo of Johnson and Reese proved tough for the Yellowjackets to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
George Anthony was a passing and rushing force as West Rusk defeated Big Sandy.

Anthony was a beast in the backfield as the Raiders bested the Wildcats.
Reese was the best receiver in the league this week as Arp bested the Yellowjackets.
Anthony was the most successful running back in 2A-2 Region III District 10 this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 333 yards as West Rusk beat Elysian Fields. Dakota McCoy also contributed to the rushing game with 129 yards on the ground.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Reese. The Arp star has 5 catches for 144 yards.
John Frazier's team moved up to 848 from 959 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of besting Big Sandy 55-19.
