The Arcata Tigers won the last time they faced the Eureka Loggers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Arcata strolled past the Loggers with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Arcata.
Arcata found their leader in underclassman Luke Lemke, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Lemke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Lucian Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Eureka lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julian Goodman. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmil Rippy, who scored nine points.
Arcata has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Eureka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcata will face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Del Norte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Tigers are ranked 317th). As for Eureka, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
