Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Worth County/Northeast Nodaway Tigers walked away with it. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-14 victory over Pattonsburg. The win was familiar territory for Worth County/Northeast Nodaway who now have nine in a row.
It was another big night for Tyler New, who rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. New's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Frisch , who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Pattonsburg's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gage Iddings, who threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Landon Preston, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Pattonsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Worth County/Northeast Nodaway will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Nodaway. South Nodaway is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pattonsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
