Baseball Recap: East Nashville Magnet Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but East Nashville Magnet unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights by a score of 9-8. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Knights earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Calvin Bibby was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Alexander Griffey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

East Nashville Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Hume-Fogg, their record is now 4-8.

Coming up, East Nashville Magnet will face off against Antioch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hume-Fogg, they will square off against Fairview at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hume-Fogg is facing Fairview at the right time seeing as Fairview is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
