The Rocklin Thunder will venture away from home to challenge the Oak Ridge Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Ridge took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Rocklin, who comes in off a win.
Rocklin hadn't beaten Folsom on the road since April 25, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Thunder came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 7-2.
Payton Prior spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brooke Lomelli was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylee Rogers also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Folsom only posted a batting average of .200.
On Wednesday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Oak Ridge fell just short of Del Oro by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since June 1, 2024.
Emery Glaser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Rocklin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Oak Ridge, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-2.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rocklin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Oak Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rocklin couldn't quite finish off Oak Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Thunder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
