After a string of seven wins, The Lawton Blue Devils''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of North Muskegon by a score of 27-24.
James Young was on fire for North Muskegon: he threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. North Muskegon also got help from Tj Byard who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Lawton's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for North Muskegon, their victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Lawton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Muskegon will be playing at home against Pewamo-Westphalia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Pewamo-Westphalia is ranked 103rd, while North Muskegon is ranked 82nd).
