After a string of three wins, the Beaumont Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Hills. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Defeat or not, Beaumont got some senior leadership from Payton Joseph who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals and Vince tracy Capuras who scored 17 points. Capuras scored a full 27.4% of Beaumont's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Morgan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Beaumont's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Oak Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
