Harrisburg Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 68-52 to Conestoga Christian. Harrisburg Christian found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Harrisburg Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Stargel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shuan Bogovic, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Paul Hurst was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 18 rebounds for Conestoga Christian. Hurst is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played. Jordan Roth was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Harrisburg Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Conestoga Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrisburg Christian is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Flames at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Tycen VanDerPloog and Stargel. As for Conestoga Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
