Basketball Recap: Lukas Fontasiewicz Key Part of a Team Effort in Bluejackets Win

Admiral Farragut saw some tournament action on Friday. They managed a 58-54 win over the International Community Comets.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Admiral Farragut to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lukas Fontasiewicz, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points along with eight assists and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Fontasiewicz a new career-high in steals. Borys Tetyk also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Despite the loss, International Community still got an impressive performance from Slade Woodruff, who went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points. Another player making a difference was Paxton Boaz, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Admiral Farragut now has a winning record of 7-6. As for International Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Admiral Farragut and Bridge to Independence will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Admiral Farragut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. As for International Community, they will challenge North Kissimmee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. International Community also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 56.4 points per game.
