The Dakota Indians suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Orangeville on the road and fell 73-33. Dakota has not had much luck with Orangeville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Dakota's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Woodsmall, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds, and Bella Keyes who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Dakota's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13. As for Orangeville, they pushed their record up to 22-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dakota will take on Lena-Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lena-Winslow presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dakota in Illinois (Lena-Winslow is ranked 183rd, while Dakota is ranked 458th). As for Orangeville, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Aquin Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Aquin Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
