Carterville hadn't beaten Harrisburg on the road since May 24, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Lions put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Parker Poole made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Drake Capie was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Alex Lyell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
