The North Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 59-24 loss at the hands of Aquinas. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North in their matchups with Aquinas: they've now lost three in a row.
Aquinas found their leader in underclassman K'Lynn Carter, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least 25% of Aquinas' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayzelle Gibson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
North has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
North will head out on the road to face off against Our Lady of the Elms at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Aquinas will finish 2023 at home by hosting Manchester at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Manchester is ranked 584th, while Aquinas is ranked 586th).
