Basketball Recap: Arete Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Arete Prep extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Crew Oetjen. The Arete Prep CHARGERS put the hurt on the Highland Prep West HORNETS with a sharp 69-49 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Oetjen, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Harrison Kremer, who posted 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played.

Arete Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Highland Prep West, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arete Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Madison Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Madison Highland Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season. Highland Prep West also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Kingman Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Kingman Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Highland Prep West surely won't give up without a fight.
