The Halfway Cardinals will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Macks Creek Pirates at 5:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Halfway: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Macks Creek has snatched up 14 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Halfway took a serious blow against Weaubleau, falling 64-37. While losing is never fun, Halfway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Weaubleau is ranked 231st).
Meanwhile, Macks Creek put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Fair Play at home to the tune of 73-22. With Macks Creek ahead 59-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
India Willis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight steals and five assists. She hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Addison Ratliff, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Halfway has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Macks Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
Halfway took a serious blow against Macks Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 82-12. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Halfway was down 51-10.
