When it comes to explaining why NCSSM: Morganton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lawson Taylor. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Centurion Tzendzalian was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Owen found their leader in underclassman Asante Martin, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Jack Wesley Burk, who scored 13 points along with two blocks.
NCSSM: Morganton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Owen, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Morganton will face off against Draughn at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Draughn is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Owen, they will head out on the road to take on Avery County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Avery County and Owen are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
