Branford hasn't had much luck against Dixie County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Branford will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Branford is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on St. John Lutheran with a sharp 17-0 victory on Monday. With that win, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Keaton Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Branford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
In other pitching news, Jackson Skinner looked comfortable as he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on E'Nalee Perry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Kyler Williamson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Branford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John Lutheran only posted a batting average of .136.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Dixie County was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell 5-2 to Lafayette. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost eight in a row.
Huntley Hines spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Mason Jones made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Branford, their record now sits at 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Branford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dixie County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Branford's way against Dixie County in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Branford made off with a 13-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
