Softball Recap: Clover Hill Has No Trouble Against Manchester

Clover Hill made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Manchester, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Wednesday. The game marked the Cavaliers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Brianna Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miller was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Analia Reyes and Alejandra Wittman did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Wittman scored three runs while going 2-for-3. That triple was Reyes' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Marshall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Clover Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester only posted a batting average of .261.

The win made it two in a row for Clover Hill and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Manchester, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.
