North Montgomery is 6-1 against Greencastle since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Chargin' Chargers will look to defend their home field against the Tiger Cubs at 10:00 a.m. North Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
North Montgomery had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Southmont on Thursday. The Chargin' Chargers were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Mounties. The Chargin' Chargers haven't had any issues with the Mounties recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Keaton Brown made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cade Cole was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cayden Keller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
North Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmont only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, Greencastle unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-1 to Lafayette Central Catholic. The Tiger Cubs were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the five contests prior), but the Knights' pitchers proved too tough.
Sam Gooch was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
North Montgomery's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Greencastle, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.
Both North Montgomery and Greencastle just can't seem to miss. The Chargin' Chargers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Greencastle struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Montgomery took their victory against Greencastle when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Chargin' Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tiger Cubs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
