Basketball Recap: Eastgate Life Academy Piles Up the Points Against Woody Gap

Eastgate Life Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by the Woody Gap Falcons to the tune of 32-5. Eastgate Life Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Eastgate Life Academy was led to victory by Gabby Godoy and Zoey Barrett. Godoy posted four points along with nine steals and eight boards, while Barrett went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points. The dominant performance gave Godoy a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Moody, who put up five points.

Eastgate Life Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Woody Gap, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Eastgate Life Academy will venture away from home to take on Philadelphia Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. Woody Gap does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
