While Bolsa Grande's victory against Samueli Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Matadors beat the Firewolves on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-13. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Matadors.

Meanwhile, Saddleback came up short against Rancho Alamitos on Wednesday and fell 22-17. The Roadrunners haven't had much luck with the Vaqueros recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bolsa Grande's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Saddleback, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Bolsa Grande took their victory against Saddleback in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Matadors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
