The Sulphur Bulldogs will square off against the Mannford Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sulphur's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last eight games.
Sulphur's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Victory Christian 59-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sulphur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kale Brakefield, who threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Brakefield a new career-high in passer rating (171.1). Maddax Mobly was Brakefield's top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.
Sulphur didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mavric Lowrance and Bridge Barrett.
Meanwhile, Mannford came up short against Seminole on Friday and fell 44-34. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chieftains 14-8 in the first quarter.
Sulphur will have to keep a close watch on Brayden Rodriguez and Luke Naylor, a pair of players who had a big impact on Mannford's prior game. Rodriguez rushed for 140 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, while Naylor rushed for 109 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Naylor has become a key player for Mannford: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The Pirates also got a significant boost from Jj Hindsman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.
Sulphur's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 51.0 points this season. As for Mannford, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Sulphur has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mannford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 342.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Sulphur against Mannford when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-0 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
