Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Andrean walked away with it. They blew past the Southmont Mounties 52-32 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Fighting 59ers as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Andrean's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Elish, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 123 yards and one TD while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Elish a new career-high in passer rating (166.7). Javier McCoy got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Andrean, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gavin Jones, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Andrean didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mitchell Myers and McCoy. McCoy got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Andrean's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Southmont, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.

Coming up, Andrean will look to defend their home field on Friday against Adams Central at 7:00 p.m. The Fighting 59ers will need to watch out since the Flying Jets have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. Southmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
