Hollins has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Pinellas Park Patriots at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Hollins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pinellas Park likes a good challenge.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact Hollins proved on Thursday. They came out on top against Osceola by a score of 60-47.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hollins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Lemons, who scored 18 points along with five assists. Lemons has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Miller, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Pinellas Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of Northside Christian by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hollins' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Pinellas Park, they bumped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Hollins against Pinellas Park when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 86-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pinellas Park's Gregory Chaney, who scored 20 points along with five assists and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hollins still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
