After flying high against the Seminary Bulldogs on Thursday, the Columbia Wildcats came back down to earth. Columbia ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-38 walloping at the hands of Moss Point on Saturday. Columbia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Moss Point apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.
Quey'sean Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Moss Point, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Taylor's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jujuan Nettles, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Moss Point, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on East Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Marion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Moss Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 382nd in Alabama, while Moss Point is ranked 135th in Mississippi).
