Montverde Academy has won six straight games at home, while Lake Minneola has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Montverde Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Montverde Academy barely beat East River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Falcons on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Danati Fronduto made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jovansky Velez and Arnaldo Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Velez went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rainer Garcia, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Montverde Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East River only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Lake Minneola won against East Ridge on Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Hawks came out on top against Osceola by a score of 5-2. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Kowboys: they've now won three in a row.
Brayden Richter looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Fabian Antosanti, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
With the win, Montverde Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-7. As for Lake Minneola, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Montverde Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Lake Minneola struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Montverde Academy's way against Lake Minneola in their previous matchup back in March, as Montverde Academy made off with a 13-5 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
