It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Trier had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Glenbrook North Spartans 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Trevians sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
New Trier got a great performance from Henrik Conniff as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Conniff has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cj Donnelly was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Zach Perchik was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
New Trier's win bumped their record up to 29-7-1. As for Glenbrook North, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-16.
