Belmont have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Booneville at 7:00 PM. Belmont aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the team has another upset up their sleeve.
Belmont didn't have too much trouble with Kossuth last Friday as they won 40-21. No one put up better numbers for Belmont than senior Parker Bolton, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Bolton's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games.
Meanwhile, Booneville put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Mantachie as the squad secured a 40-0 victory. Booneville are sitting pretty right now with nine consecutive wins.
Their wins bumped Booneville to 9-0 and Belmont to 5-4. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
