The Boise Brave will head out on the road to challenge the Borah Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Boise will be strutting in after a win while Borah will be coming in after a defeat.
While Brave fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. They won by a run and slipped past Emmett 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Brave as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Aidric Bird tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Brody Newbery was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Chase Tommack, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Borah unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgevue on Wednesday.
Borah also got a good showing from Ryder Ueland, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Borah saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keijen Shearer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Boise couldn't quite get it done against Borah in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can Boise avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
