Northwest entered their tilt with Kearney Catholic on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Stars 8-0. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Northwest's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abby Dinkelman, who went 1-for-3 while posting 2 stolen bases, 2 runs, and 1 RBI. Dinkelman has been locked in at the plate lately, hitting .800 over her last nine games vs .590 in her previous 31 games.

Northwest has now won 15 of their last 16 games at home. That gives them a 9-1 record this season. As for Kearney Catholic, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will play host again on Thursday to welcome Grand Island Central Catholic, where first pitch is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Kearney Catholic, they will host McCook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
