The Daleville Broncos had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 78-66 victory over Eastern. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Daleville had a senior duo take command as Meryck Adams scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Koleman Newsome dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Adams hasn't dropped below three steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Colvin, who scored seven points along with six assists and three steals.
Daleville's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Eastern, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Daleville will head out on the road to challenge Frankton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daleville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Frankton likes a good challenge. As for Eastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blackford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
