Swartz Creek (Mich.) came back strong to notch a 24-21 win over
Lapeer West (Lapeer, Mich.) Saturday.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown, the Panthers went into halftime with a 21-0 lead. The Dragons took the lead to win the game on a field goal by
Jackson Maxwell in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Swartz Creek still trailed by 14 points going into the fourth quarter. But 17 points in the fourth helped SC pull out the victory.
The Dragons didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Maxwell kicked a field goal.
Swartz Creek avenged last year's 23-14 loss to Lapeer West with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lapeer West, which notched a 19-13 victory over Lapeer East in its previous outing. The win brought Swartz Creek's winning streak to three games. The loss broke Lapeer West's three-game winning streak.
