Arbor View is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Sierra Vista is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Aggies will welcome the Mountain Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arbor View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Palo Verde, who was ranked second at the time (Arbor View was ranked fifth). The Aggies walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Panthers on Wednesday.
J Alex Scaggs made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Sierra Vista made easy work of Eldorado on Wednesday and carried off a 16-1 win. Considering the Mountain Lions have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sierra Vista got a massive performance out of Brady Skinner, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Skinner is becoming a predictor of the Mountain Lions' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Owen Angelo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Sierra Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Everything went Arbor View's way against Sierra Vista when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Arbor View made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Aggies repeat their success, or do the Mountain Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
