Crestwood is 6-1 against Cardinal since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Crestwood Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Cardinal Huskies at 6:45 p.m. Cardinal took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Crestwood, who comes in off a win.
Crestwood's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They secured a 35-29 W over Grand Valley. The win was all the more spectacular given Crestwood's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Grand Valley is ranked 127th).
Abby Guyette and Livia Martini were among the main playmakers for Crestwood as the former scored 4 points along with 8 steals and 7 rebounds and the latter scored 8 points along with 7 steals. Guyette is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly O'Bryant, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cardinal, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were the victim of a rough 55-32 loss at the hands of Wickliffe on Friday.
Berkshire's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Crestwood's defeat dropped theirs to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for Crestwood against Cardinal in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 59-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crestwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
