A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jackson Jaguars duke it out with the M.L. King Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday... The timing is sure in Jackson's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while M.L. King has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Jackson earned a 51-40 victory over Pace Academy.

Cayden Cornish was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (five). Aaliyah Weaver was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.
Meanwhile, M.L. King hadn't done well against Forest Park recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. M.L. King blew past Forest Park 35-7. That looming 35-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.
M.L. King had a senior duo take command as Aubriana Kirkland dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards and Jamoney Hayes posted no points along with 20 boards and eight blocks. With that strong performance, Hayes is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamora Whittlesey, who put up six points in addition to ten boards and three steals.
M.L. King smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 51 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for M.L. King, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-13.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Jackson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.5 points per game. It's a different story for M.L. King, though, as they've been averaging only 25.9 points. The only thing between Jackson and another offensive beatdown is M.L. King. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Jackson against M.L. King in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured an 85-12 victory. In that game, Jackson amassed a halftime lead of 47-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
