After flying high against the Forest Bulldogs on Tuesday, the Caldwell Parish Spartans came back down to earth. Caldwell Parish took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Prep on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lincoln Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Spann out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Spann has scored at least 25% of Lincoln Prep's points. Stephen Burks was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 7 rebounds.
Caldwell Parish's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lincoln Prep, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caldwell Parish will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Delhi Charter at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Lincoln Prep, they will be playing at home against Bastrop at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bastrop is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
