Basketball Recap: Pike County Takes a Loss

Pike County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost to the Morgan County Bulldogs at home by a 66-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 554th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 150th).

Despite the loss, Pike County still got an impressive performance from Yadi Rosado, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Rosado is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Head, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points.

Zeki Locus continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Morgan County, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Locus is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. Justice Lewis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Pike County's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Morgan County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Pike County has already played their next matchup (against Rock Springs Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Morgan County will head out to take on Callaway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
