Baseball Recap: Taylor Wins Going Away Against Western Hills

While Taylor put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Western Hills. The Yellowjackets blew past the Mustangs 13-0. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Taylor got a great performance from Ian Newbauer as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Ryan Noeth was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Bryce Clayton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Taylor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Hills only posted an OBP of .300.

Taylor's record is now 5-12. As for Western Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will challenge Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Yellowjackets have lost five straight at home , while the Wildcats have lost three on the road. As for Western Hills, they will face off against Withrow at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
