Even though the Jasper Eagles have not done well against the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jasper breezed by Jefferson Independent Day on the road to the tune of 48-18. This was payback for Jasper, who suffered a 71-59 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day saw an underclassman step up: Jack Twiss scored ten points.
Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jefferson Independent Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jasper will face off against Golden City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Golden City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
