The Rifle Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a  41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coal Ridge. Rifle has not had much luck with Coal Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
 Despite the loss, Rifle still got an impressive performance from   Blayke Hostettler, who  scored 13 points along with two  steals.
  Andrea Jaquez was the offensive standout of the  game as she  scored seven points along with seven  steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Brooklyn Richards, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals.
 Rifle has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost six of their last seven contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Coal Ridge, their win  ended a three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-9.
 Rifle will take on Summit at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Summit is coming into the  game hot, having won their last three games. As for Coal Ridge, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Basalt at 2:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Basalt has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
