The Woodstock Wolverines will be playing at home against the Sequoyah Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodstock is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Two weeks ago, Woodstock took a serious blow against Creekview, falling 35-3. While losing is never fun, Woodstock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Creekview is ranked 71st).
Sequoyah fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Allatoona 35-17 on Friday.
Sequoyah found their leader in underclassman Kolby Martin, who threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Rajecki, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Woodstock has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Sequoyah, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Woodstock was dealt a bruising 56-12 loss at the hands of Sequoyah when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Woodstock have more luck at home instead of on the road?
