Ouachita Christian extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 2 this week by beating Lake Providence, 51-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.
Ouachita Christian suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 51-0 loss to Ouachita Christian. Steven Fitzhugh's team had been ranked 21st, but fell to 35 following the defeat.
The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Quin Graves threw for 125 and two touchdowns and Colby Webb had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Pennebaker chipped in 63 yards. Garryn Chowns helped Ouachita Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
Ouachita Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Graves has thrown for 511 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Webb has 15 catches for 236 yards. Tanner Pennebaker leads the league in rushing with 186 yards.
St. Frederick moved up to 223 from 269 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 35-21 win over the Warriors helped the Warriors improve their standing.
