The Piper Bengals will take on the Boyd Anderson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piper is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Piper came up short against the Eagles and fell 49-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Piper in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Boyd Anderson came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Key West 58-36. Given Boyd Anderson's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Conchs are ranked 430th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Piper has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 5-16 record this season. As for Boyd Anderson, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Piper was dealt a bruising 52-17 loss at the hands of the Cobras in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Piper was down 34-14.
