Alamo Heights and Lanier are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Alamo Heights Mules will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lanier Voks at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Alamo Heights will be strutting in after a victory while Lanier will be coming in after a defeat.
Alamo Heights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Jefferson, posting a 77-14 win on the road. Alamo Heights has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Alamo Heights' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sophia Zadel, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks, and Talaiyah Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrews has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Faye Peterson, who scored nine points.
Lanier suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 72-26 loss at the hands of Burbank. Lanier has not had much luck with Burbank recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Alamo Heights has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Lanier, their loss dropped their record down to 6-23.
