Triton Central is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Brownstown Central is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Triton Central Tigers will take on the Brownstown Central Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Triton Central was fully in charge, breezing past Clarksville 41-6 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.
Triton Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Stuckey, who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Ray Crawford was another key contributor, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Brownstown Central at home against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial on Friday as the team secured a 56-27 victory.
Brownstown Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lane Zike, who rushed for 142 yards. Another player making a difference was Micah J sheffer, who threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as Triton Central and Brownstown Central have no problem gaining yardage. Triton Central has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 372.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Brownstown Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 358.8 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Triton Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Brownstown Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 24-19 win.
