The Bishop Verot Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 29 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 70-41 win over LaBelle on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-19.
Bishop Verot got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Williams out in front who scored 23 points. The game was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Reeder, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
LaBelle lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Williams, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alan King jr, who scored 11 points.
The victory (which was Bishop Verot's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for LaBelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Verot will challenge Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canterbury will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 648th, while Bishop Verot is ranked 148th). As for LaBelle, they will head out on the road to face off against Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
