The Amphitheater Panthers fell victim to the Sahuarita Mustangs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Mustangs, falling 47-0. Amphitheater gained 376 more yards on the day, but it was Sahuarita that made the best of use of them.
Imanol Silva and Malique Maro certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Silva threw for 226 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Maro rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Riley Robinson was another key contributor, picking up 87 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Sahuarita, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.
Amphitheater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sahuarita will head out on the road to face off against Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
