The Osceola Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Bruning-Davenport/Shickley 40-34. Osceola lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-28 score last time.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Recker, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Sunday, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Osceola has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Osceola will head out on the road to square off against the Mustangs at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. Meridian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley will take on the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelby-Rising City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
