Carroll is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Elkhart 49-14. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won six matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Gabe Frisinger and Micah Jarrell. Frisinger had a great game and rushed for 52 yards and a pair of scores. Meanwhile, Jarrell did his best for the losing side, rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 126 yards and one TD.
Carroll's defense made their presence known, laying out Jarrell three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Austin Rohrs, Liam Keays, and Coleman Tipton, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Fort Wayne Northrop ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 17-16 photo finish over Fort Wayne Snider. Those 17 points were actually the fewest the Bruins have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Fort Wayne Northrop's win came from a few key players Carroll will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Callison, who threw for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 51 yards. Those 51 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Callison's aerial production (133 yards to be exact) went to Jerquaden Guilford, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Carroll's record now sits at 7-3. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, their record is now 8-2.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Frisinger and Callison. Frisinger just won't slow down this season and has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 259.4 passing yards per game. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Callison, who threw for 362 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 44 yards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Chargers still be able to contain Callison? There's only one way to find out.
