Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Hartsville's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

There's no place like home for Hartsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Camden Bulldogs 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Foxes have posted since March 4th.

Brandon Anderson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Anderson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Anderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Moore, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Moore has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Coleman Radcliff was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hartsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hartsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Camden, they moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartsville will head out to face off against Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Camden, they will venture away from home to take on Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
