The Hampton Hawks will be home for the holidays to greet the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hampton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Lawrence-Nelson is ranked 99th).
Last Tuesday, Hampton escaped with a win against Meridian by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39.
Hampton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Arndt, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Arndt scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Dose, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson lost to Shelton at home by a decisive 57-38 margin on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lawrence-Nelson in their matchups with Shelton: they've now lost four in a row.
Hampton's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
